Ian Vaughn, Ph.D.
Senior Software Engineer
Ian Vaughn brings 15 years of experience in underwater robotic systems to Spear AI. He previously worked as the lead software developer on the Yellow Moray UUV Torpedo Tube Launch & Recovery System. Other experience includes leading an interdisciplinary team to develop an autonomous navigation capability for confined underwater environments and leading a UUV software modernization effort with the National Deep Submergence Facility. Ian holds a PhD in Ocean Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and a BS in Computer Science from Cornell University.
